spazz!
Okay. I'm ready for the half-marathon.
It's everything else that I'm not ready for. I'm partially packed, trying to pack light (ha!), afraid that if I bring warm clothes it will be warm, and if I don't, it'll be cold, blah blah blah. It all comes down to this very deep desire to pack light. I don't know why it's so important. But I know that I almost never succeed.
Oh, and Austin's forecast for Sunday: thundershowers. Ooowee, this is going to be fun!
I've gone to pilates twice this week (and the pilates torture machine demo is today), but otherwise, no exercise. I could use some more exercise, as I am really stressed, and my body is starting to exhibit it in really physical ways. Alas!
So, question: when you go to out-of-town races, do you pack light, or do you bring everything, or are you somewhere in between?
And does anyone have any recommendations for walking a race in a thunderstorm?

Depending on which forecast you check, it might be chilly, thundery, or 65 degrees. Bizarre. Pack for everything. Or pack for nothing and go crazy at the Expo (or heck, you're staying a block from RunTex). Probably not the best plan, but hey, who's counting...
Maybe you could add a little light elliptical workout? It won't hurt your tapering.

Richard's right, the forecasts for this weekend keep on changing. Last one I saw said some showers overnight and early morning, but then clearing for sunshine. (See, I'm obsessed with you Austin marathoners and somehow feel that if my state were to offer up storms it would be less than courteous. I'd feel the need to apologize on behalf of Texas.)
I hear you on the packing issue: I always feel great pressure to pack light and not be a "typical" female, as if everyone were checking out my luggage and passing judgement. Weird.
I say pack it all for peace of mind.

Oh good lord. When I pack, I usually don't have time so I pack the entire freakin' gear cabinet. I'm prepared for every kind of weather in the world.
It makes for some heavy travel, that's for sure. I keep telling myself I'm going to get it together, make *time* to pack and pack light...but it always ends up being a last minute thing and I bring everything in the world. :)
